I got My VX from Gen MK & Not Anita Among! David Kabanda on Claims that former Speaker Gave Him a Commissioner’s Vehicle

By Mulengera ReportersKasambya County MP David Kabanda says that the VX he obtained from Parliament was gifted to him by Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and not a personal favour from Anita Among. Critics had been out saying Kabanda is a very treacherous and ungrateful person because he threw Anita Among under the bus after she had pampered and done for him many good things including giving him a brand new VX which was meant to be for Parliamentary Commissioners. That the Kasambya County MP was never entitled to such a vehicle since he wasn’t a Commissioner. Kabanda now says that nothing could have been further from the truth. He asserts that the vehicle had originally been part of the big fleet of posh vehicles the Among-led Parliament had procured in 2023 for distribution among former Speakers of Parliament. Gen YK Museveni was Speaker of National Resistance Council (NRC) which served as the Parliament for Uganda for 10 years from 1986 to 1996, when the 6th Parliament dawned. But being the rich man he is, Gen Museveni never showed appetite for his vehicle in his capacity as an ex-Speaker. He decreed that his son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba takes the vehicle and use it to do his errands in his other capacity as his SPA in charge of special operations. Kabanda says that, because he didn’t readily need the vehicle, Gen MK signaled the leadership at Parliament to allocate it to him because he was now serving as the Secretary General Patriotic League of Uganda. So, he insists that this false claim was originated and amplified by social media influencers who were working to sanitize Anita Among by portraying her as a well-intentioned person who had only been a victim of treacherous characters she innocently brought close to herself. Kabanda says there is no way Anita Among could have allocated him a vehicle meant for Commissioners because each one of them got what they are entitled to without any of them missing out.
