The only bad news emanating from Ascot following Tuesday's action is that the rest of the week couldn't possibly be as entertaining. Or could it? There are endless potential storylines just bubbling beneath the surface on Wednesday. We've outlined five below. Big-Name Breeze-Up Graduates In The SpotlightGiven the rise and rise of the breeze-up sales in recent years, and the extraordinary sums that potential Ascot runners can make in that sphere, it is always fascinating to track how some of the high-profile graduates perform on the big stage. Special mention to Thomond O'Mara, who consigned the Queen Anne winner Ten Bob Tony (Night Of Thunder), but how did this year's batch of breezers perform in the two-year-old races? It's probably too early to comment on the overall standard but €800,000 Arqana Breeze-Up graduate Royal Heritage (Blue Point) ran a hell of a race to finish a gutsy third in the Coventry Stakes. When you consider that Royal Heritage is a May foal and that the Longways Stables graduate only made a winning debut at Hamilton last week, everything points to him being a good horse further down the line. A much better read on the breeze-ups will come in the Queen Mary on Wednesday when a host of big-name graduates, including 900,000gns Craven Breeze-Up purchase Senorita Bonita (Starspangledbanner), do battle. It will make for fascinating viewing. Brian SheerinBig Day For Toby MooreBuried among the jockey list for the one of the week's big handicaps, the Royal Hunt Cup, is Toby Moore who starts his own Royal Ascot journey while dad Ryan is still rampant. Claiming seven off the smart Jack Channon-trained Excellent Believe (Make Believe), who got within two lengths of Zeus Olympios in last year's Superior Mile, he has a more than a minor chance of pulling off a notable landmark. Having ridden two winners at the weekend, he comes here with confidence high as he prepares for the first of perhaps many Royal clashes with the old man, who is on Erzindjan (Lope De Vega). Tom FraryA Shining Moment For The Freshmen? Two very hot young US first-crop sires have runners with big chances on Wednesday, with Golden Pal responsible for the exciting More Champagne and Shining Moment in the Queen Mary before Jack Christopher's One Number lines up in the new Windsor Castle. Tom Morley is keen on More Champagne, who if successful will be providing the Morley family with a first Royal Ascot winner since Celeric captured the 1997 Gold Cup for his uncles Christopher Spence and David Morley. Shining Moment races for Wesley Ward, who was narrowly denied in the Norfolk with Golden Pal when the rain came in 2020, but the sun is out this time. One Number is on this side of the Atlantic, with Joseph O'Brien saddling him for a partnership including Munir and Souede and he really caught the eye when second on his Curragh debut. Tom FraryHistory Beckons For OmbudsmanThe feature G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes has become one of the week's biggest races since it was upgraded from a Group 2 in 2000 and was graced by Dubai Millennium, but interestingly no horse has won more than one renewal in that time. Step forward Ombudsman (Night Of Thunder), who comes into his repeat bid all guns blazing but he has Daryz (Sea The Stars) to contend with so it will be as tough as it gets. Daryz is also seeking his own landmark, as no Arc winner has been successful in this with even the brilliant Treve beaten in 2014.Tom FraryCount On Celeron To Go Close In The Windsor CastleMichael O'Callaghan has made no secret about the regard in which he holds Celeron (Mohaather) and the Curragh maiden winner will be bidding to provide the trainer with a breakthrough success at this meeting when he lines out in the concluding Windsor Castle Stakes. The Harv (Ten Sovereigns), named after O'Callaghan's late friend John Fleming, was well held in the Coventry Stakes on Tuesday. However, when the trainer spoke with TDN Europe last week, it was hard not to stand up and take note of his confidence levels behind Celeron. O'Callaghan said, “He's a very, very talented horse who could potentially get a mile next year. He has plenty of talent and, for our lad to do it in the style that he did [on debut], he's very exciting.” Noted.
