3 CHC staff suspended for death of woman after childbirth - The HinduPublished - June 19, 2026 08:32 pm IST - KALABURAGIThree staff members of the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Mannaekhalli in Chitaguppa taluk of Bidar district have been suspended following the death of a woman who reportedly suffered severe bleeding after childbirth and died while being shifted to a higher medical facility.The suspended personnel are Medical Officer Jairaj, staff nurse Rachel Rani, and laboratory technician Sharanabasava Singri.According to Health Department sources, the woman was admitted to the Mannaekhalli CHC for delivery. Following childbirth, she developed severe postpartum haemorrhage. As her condition deteriorated, she was referred to the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS) for specialised treatment. However, she died on the way to the hospital.A preliminary inquiry is said to have found evidence of negligence in the management of the case by the medical officer and other staff on duty. Based on the findings, disciplinary action was initiated against the three employees pending a detailed investigation.Dhyaneshwar Neeragudi, District Health and Family Welfare Officer, Bidar, issued the suspension orders.
