Well, no, actually there is an EU court that resolves these sorts of disputes. If parents conceive a child from two different EU nations then the child support laws from neither automatically apply, and it has to go through the EU court. Generally the laws of the country where the child is born supersede, but can be contested, particularly by a deadbeat dad trying to refuse maintenance. Ask me how I know 🤦🏻♀️
