Yeah this seems like throwing more money on the fire. As someone with some trauma and other challenges I empathise, but I also know that having steady finances and avoiding debt are like Mental Health Management 101. Also, while 12 step programs are garbage, from personal experience, I do agree with their warnings about 'doing a geographic' - basically being in such a bad headspace that you look for external factors such as where you live to blame. Desperate for a solution you decide that moving will be a reset, only to realise that almost all your problems - mental, physical and financial - follow you and are often exacerbated by the cost, stress and isolation of moving. I hope this person gets it together. They don't have to become a CEO or anything, but just well enough to keep ahead of their debt, look after their cat and find some stability.
