We have three selections that cover all four World Cup matches and make up our best bets of the day. TREBLE YOUR RETURNS + GET £20 IN FREE BETS Bet of the Day Bet of the Day – South Africa to beat Czech Republic @ 15/4 Losing 2-1, creating an expected goals total of only 0.07 and finishing the game with nine men isn’t what South Africa would have hoped to achieve from their opening World Cup contest against Mexico, but Bafana Bafana look overpriced to bounce back against the Czech Republic.Clearly, the effort of South Africa in defeat to Mexico was poor, but El Tri had a home Estadio Azteca crowd on their side and the hosts rate a side capable of making a major impact on the World Cup. The Czech Republic are not in Mexico’s league, and Miroslav Koubek’s men were clearly second best when losing 2-1 to South Korea in the early hours of Friday morning. The Czechs lost the shot count 15-7, they conceded an xG of 2.30 and South Korea were far more dominant than the 2-1 scoreline suggests. Centre-back Ladislav Krejcí grabbed the Czech Republic’s goal against South Korea, but it’s difficult to see where Koubek’s men can find chances away from set-plays. It’ll be a depleted South Africa side in Atlanta, with Sphephelo Sithole and Themba Zwane suspended, but, at 15/4, there is enough juice in the price to take a punt on Bafana Bafana. Special of the Day – Switzerland to win, Switzerland to score over 1.5 goals and Johan Manzambi to assist bet builder @ 6/1Switzerland will be pretty cheesed off after conceding a last-gasp equaliser to Qatar in their opening World Cup contest and a 1-1 draw against one of the weakest teams in North America was not the ideal start. However, the A-Team put in a pretty strong performance, hitting 26 efforts on goal and creating an expected goals total of 3.22.Taking chances is a concern for Murat Yakin’s men, but Johan Manzambi and Granit Xhaka can unlock defences from midfield and Ruben Vargas and Dan Ndoye should pose a threat out wide. It was all-out defence for Bosnia and Herzegovina in their 1-1 draw with Canada, and while the Dragons rate a step up from Qatar, it may not be a huge increase in quality from what the Maroons offered. Combining a Switzerland win, the Swiss to score over 1.5 goals and Manzambi to assist in a bet builder pays an attractive 6/1. Longshot of the Day – Switzerland to beat Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada to score over 2.5 goals v Qatar, both teams to score in Mexico v South Korea treble @ 6/1 Bosnia and Herzegovina are arguably the weakest European nation at the World Cup and Switzerland, who hit 26 shots and ten corners in their 1-1 draw with Qatar can put the record straight in this spot. Canada will have home advantage when they meet a poor Qatar side in Vancouver and the Reds should deliver on the expectation. Jesse Marsch’s men hit 13 shots and nine corners when dominating Bosnia and Herzegovina in their opening contest, and they should collect their first-ever World Cup victory in style. Mexico were assisted by South Africa’s ill-discipline, but El Tri hit 16 efforts on goal in that 2-1 victory and they can strike again against South Korea. The Taegeuk Warriors created an expected goals tally of 2.30 in a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic and Mexico may struggle to keep them out at the other end.
