DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin was on “Fox News Sunday” with host Shannon Bream to talk about FISA not being renewed.Mullin blasted the Democrats for obstructing a very important tool to keep the US safe from foreign threats. With the World Cup being hosted in the United States, there is a need for FISA to help facilitate the monitoring of any foreign threats to our nation.“When we really want to talk about the Democrats’ credibility on keeping America safe, come on, let’s laugh. During the last administration had open borders. They let terrorists flood this country that we are still arresting every single day,” Mullin said.“The agency that was arresting them, ICE and CBP, they made sure they defunded them for 114 days and all of the Department of Homeland Security for 76 days,” Mullin continued.“They had zero credibility. We know they are about defunding the police, and they are more interested Shannon, in protecting criminals and illegals on our streets than they are about actually protecting law abiding citizens and their constituents,” Mullin explained.“Does this leave a gap for you at all? The expiration of section 702 temporarily when you got the World Cup, you got the America 250 events,” Bream asked.“There’s ways that we can get to what we need to do, but it makes it significantly more difficult where we can cut through a lot of the bureaucracy with 702 and go after the terrorists that are trying to attack us every single day,” Mullin said.“It’s not impossible. Instead of something we could get done in maybe hours, this may take days,” Mullin said.“What would you set the threat level at, the assessment, or at least the burden that is on DHS right now with respect to the World Cup, America 250, all of these other things?” Bream asked.“It’s the highest it’s ever been. I mean, we have especially after what we went through with the last four years of administration by allowing these individuals to come into the country who we don’t know who they are,” Mullin continued.“We arrest terrorists every single week, I’m not exaggerating. That are not individuals coming across the border. Those are individuals that are still inside this country,” Mullin said.“Just with FIFA. Let’s use FIFA. We have 78 games that are against 11 cities in 38 days, which is essentially 78 Super Bowls,” Mullin said.“On top of that, you have Freedom 250 with all of that activity that is going on. Tremendous amount of local partnership that has to take place and not all of them have the resources,” Mullin explained.“What the Democrats did by defunding us was make the burden on the local law enforcement to start carrying that load. Now we are able to refund them, and we are trying to get the money out as fast as possible, but it did make it significantly more difficult,” Mullin continued.Watch:WATCH: @SecMullinDHS on lapsed FISA tools “there’s ways that we can get to what we need to do, but it makes it significantly more difficult” pic.twitter.com/LJoVl8LxY0— Fox News Sunday (@FoxNewsSunday) June 14, 2026The post DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin Weighs in on FISA Expiring, Blasts Democrats for Lack of Concern for National Security – (VIDEO) appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.
