To enhance farmers’ income, promote crop diversification and bring modern technologies to the fields, the state is developing horticulture research centres, centres of excellence and technology-driven projects across Haryana.In this direction, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated a state-of-the-art Horticulture Research Centre established at Raiya in Jhajjar at a cost of ₹13.27 crore and a Seed Production Technology Centre of Excellence built at Munimpur, Badli at a cost of ₹8.50 crore. The Chief Minister said these projects would play a significant role in providing farmers with modern technologies, advanced research, and quality planting material, thereby giving fresh momentum to the horticulture sector in the state.On the occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and dedicated seven otherdevelopment projects worth ₹53.60 crore to the public. These include the Jhajjar Mini Secretariat and Residential Complex, new buildings for government schools in various villages, and water works projects for Saundhi and Nimana villages. The Chief Minister also administered a pledge to contribute wholeheartedly towards the vision of a developed India.Major Development Announcements for Badli ConstituencyNayab Singh Saini reiterated his commitment to accelerating infrastructure, healthcare, education, sports, irrigation, and rural development in the Badli Assembly Constituency. Acting on a memorandum submitted by BJP National Secretary and former Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a dedicated research centre at the Regional Centre of Excellence and Research Centre in Raiya under Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal, focusing on horticultural produce and medicinal plants of Jhajjar district.To strengthen healthcare services, a modern 50-bed hospital will be constructed in Badli village. Additionally, ₹1 crore will be provided for the construction of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Bupania village. For sports promotion, a model sports stadium will be established in Bhindawas village. An amount of ₹5.87 crore will be spent on constructing the BDPO office building in Machhrauli. The Chief Minister announced that ₹52 crore will be spent on renovating 70 kilometres of roads under the Public Works Department (PWD) in the constituency, while ₹15 crore will be spent on upgrading 25 roads under the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board. A sum of ₹30 crore has also been approved for converting the northern bypass of Badli village into a four-lane road.To facilitate farmers, ₹3 crore will be spent on establishing a crop procurement centre in Badli, while a similar facility will be constructed in Patoda village once land becomes available. For improving drainage and irrigation systems, ₹1.60 crore will be spent on lining the drain passing through Kheri Jatt, MP Majra, Badli, Pelpa, and Pahasour villages. Another ₹1.75 crore has been allocated for laying pipelines up to Drain No. 8 to ensure floodwater drainage from Girdharpur, Dhakla, Chandol, and surrounding villages.Under the Mahagram Scheme, ₹50 crore will be spent on laying sewerage lines in Badli and MP Majra, while ₹13 crore will be invested in strengthening drinking water supply infrastructure.The Chief Minister also announced an additional grant of ₹5 crore for rural development works in the constituency and reiterated that the state government is committed to balanced and comprehensive development in every region of Haryana.Raiya Research Centre to Drive Horticultural InnovationThe Chief Minister said the advanced Horticulture Research Centre established at Raiya over nearly 100 acres at a cost of ₹13.27 crore marks a significant achievement for Haryana’s agriculture and horticulture sectors. He emphasized that the centre would serve not only as a research institution but also as a bridge between farmers, scientists, and modern technologies.The centre’s laboratories will focus on developing improved and climate-resilient varieties of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, while conducting research on water conservation, productivity enhancement, quality improvement, and pest and disease management. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that technologies developed here would help reduce farming costs, increase productivity, and boost farmers’ incomes.He also highlighted the inauguration of the Seed Production Technology Centre of Excellence at Munimpur, which will provide farmers with better production and marketing opportunities through innovation, advanced technologies, and international collaboration.He noted that horticulture research centres have already been established at Badhana (Jind), Chanasoli (Ambala), Murthal (Sonipat), and Anjanthali (Karnal), while construction of a new research centre at Kharkari in Charkhi Dadri is progressing rapidly.Haryana Emerges as a Leading Horticulture StateChief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana has made remarkable progress in horticulture over the past eleven and a half years. Through initiatives such as Mera Pani Meri Virasat, the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, micro-irrigation schemes, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and other incentive programmes, farmers have been encouraged to diversify crops.He informed that under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, assistance amounting to ₹196 crore has been provided to 39,557 farmers so far. Subsidies ranging from 50 to 85 percent are also being offered to promote vegetables, mushroom cultivation, and protected farming.The Chief Minister said Haryana has established 14 Israel-assisted Centres of Excellence, enabling farmers to achieve new milestones in fruit, vegetable, flower cultivation, and beekeeping. He emphasized that the government’s objective is not only to increase production but also to ensure better prices and sustainable income growth for farmers. Sustainable Horticulture Promotion ProjectThe Chief Minister said the state government has launched the ₹2,738 crore Sustainable Horticulture Promotion Project to reduce post-harvest losses and provide farmers with better returns for their produce.Under the project, 400 horticulture clusters will be developed and 500 producer groups will be organized and strengthened. Farmers will receive access to modern technology, training, financial assistance, and improved market linkages.The project also aims to construct 1,000 rainwater harvesting structures and bring 65,000 acres under micro-irrigation. Smart horticulture practices such as protected cultivation, aeroponics, hydroponics, greenhouse farming, and vertical farming are being promoted. The government is also working towards implementing a new cold-chain policy to strengthen storage facilities, stabilize prices, and promote exports. Agriculture as an Avenue for EntrepreneurshipCalling upon youth to embrace agriculture as a business opportunity, the Chief Minister said agriculture has evolved far beyond traditional farming and has become a modern agri-business sector. Technologies such as drones, artificial intelligence, data analytics, smart sensors, digital marketing, and e-commerce are opening new opportunities.He highlighted the immense potential of agriculture-based startups, food processing units, agri-industries, and export-oriented enterprises in rural areas. Young people can create employment opportunities not only for themselves but also for others by entering these sectors.Agriculture Minister Advocates Natural Farming Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said agriculture is no longer confined to wheat and paddy cultivation but encompasses diverse sectors such as horticulture, floriculture, seed production, fisheries, animal husbandry, and agro-processing.He urged farmers to reduce excessive dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides and adopt natural farming practices. He said that through the Khadi Rozgar Utsav, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of “Vocal for Local” and “Viksit Bharat 2047” is being translated into reality on the ground.The Chief Minister was addressing the Khadi Rozgar Utsav programme held in Siwani as the Chief Guest on Wednesday. He said that Khadi has, since the freedom movement, symbolized the labour, dignity, and self-respect of millions of Indians. During the independence struggle, Khadi became the emblem of the Swadeshi movement and shook the economic foundations of British rule without the use of weapons.He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the nation the mantra of “Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion, and Khadi for Transformation.” The Khadi Rozgar Utsav at Siwani is a powerful initiative aimed at translating this vision into action.During the programme, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini personally interacted with beneficiaries from different districts of Haryana and distributed machines and toolkits. The Chief Minister also distributed 2,350 bee boxes for beekeeping by pressing the launch button online during the programme.972 Artisans Receive 3,645 Machines and ToolkitsThe Chief Minister said that under the Gramodyog Vikas Yojana, a total of 972 artisans in Haryana have been provided with 3,645 machines and toolkits, including electric potter’s wheels, bee boxes and bee colonies, sewing machines, turnwood toolkits, footwear manufacturing machines, charkhas, and dona-pattal making machines.“These are not merely machines; they are instruments that will help realize the dreams of thousands of families and lay the foundation for a new economic revolution in villages,” he said.He further informed that under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), margin money subsidy amounting to ₹504.68 crore has been provided to youth and traditional artisans establishing micro-enterprises in rural and urban areas. This assistance will pave the way for thousands of new enterprises, industries, and employment opportunities.“This support reflects the government’s confidence in the aspirations of our youth and its commitment to empowering those who wish to work hard, progress, and contribute to nation-building,” he said.Khadi Sector Witnesses Historic Growth in the Last 12 YearsThe Chief Minister noted that the birth anniversary of the great warrior Maharana Pratap was also being celebrated on the day and extended his greetings to all citizens.Highlighting the transformation in the Khadi and Village Industries sector over the past 12 years, he said that total turnover, which stood at around ₹31,000 crore in 2013-14, has increased to ₹1.87 lakh crore today.Production has increased fivefold, crossing ₹1.25 lakh crore, resulting in higher incomes for millions of families and strengthening rural economies. Over the last 12 years, nearly two crore employment opportunities have been generated across the country through Khadi and village industries.He further stated that the remuneration of Khadi artisans has increased fourfold. Notably, 80 percent of artisans associated with the Khadi sector are women, making this transformation a significant milestone in women’s empowerment.“When a woman becomes self-reliant, the entire family, society, and nation move forward,” he said.The Chief Minister added that the government is actively promoting Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and facilitating the marketing of their products in local markets as well as through e-commerce platforms across India and abroad.Haryana Advancing Towards a Self-Reliant Rural EconomyThe Chief Minister said Haryana has always been a land of hard work, entrepreneurship, and self-respect. Farmers here produce food for the nation, soldiers defend its borders, and artisans contribute through their creativity and skills.He informed that through 96 active Khadi and Village Industries institutions, nearly 58,796 artisans are employed in Haryana. In addition, more than 1.27 lakh people have received employment under the Gramodyog Vikas Yojana.So far, 5,533 machines and toolkits have been distributed under the scheme, demonstrating Haryana’s rapid progress toward building a self-reliant rural economy.Under PMEGP, 18,683 new units have been established in Haryana during the last 12 years, supported by nearly ₹638 crore in margin money subsidy. These initiatives have generated over 1.5 lakh new jobs, reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit of Haryana’s youth and business community.National-Level Handloom Training Institute to Be Established in PanipatThe Chief Minister announced that during the current financial year, a National-Level Handloom Training Institute will be established on 10 acres of land in Panipat to promote the handloom sector.He also announced that a modern Gram Haat will be set up in every block for marketing products made by Self-Help Groups.Under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, more than 20,000 rural youth will be provided skill training and connected with employment and self-employment opportunities.Employment Opportunities Must Reach VillagesThe Chief Minister said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is today viewed with renewed confidence and hope across the world and has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy.He emphasized that the dream of a developed India cannot be realized without the development of villages. Therefore, the double-engine government is continuously working for the welfare of villages, the poor, farmers, youth, and women.“Our goal is to create employment opportunities within villages so that young people are not forced to migrate in search of jobs. We aim to develop a strong network of skill development, self-employment, and small industries in every village,” he said.Khadi Holds Immense Potential for the FutureThe Chief Minister said that when a young person receives bee boxes for beekeeping, when a woman starts her own enterprise with a sewing machine, or when an artisan increases productivity with modern tools, it is not just an individual who progresses—the entire family, village, and state move forward together.He noted that Khadi and village industries offer immense opportunities in today’s world, especially as the younger generation is increasingly conscious about environmental sustainability.“There can be no better eco-friendly alternative than Khadi,” he said.Calling upon Haryana’s educated, talented, and technologically skilled youth, he urged them to bring innovative ideas to the Khadi and village industries sector, particularly in modern design, attractive packaging, branding, and digital marketing.“If you have the passion to innovate, success will certainly follow. Bansi Lal Civil Aerodrome in BhiwaniHaryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated a state-of-the-art hangar, Air Traffic Control (ATC) building, security post, and canteen constructed at a cost of approximately Rs. 31 crores at Ch. Bansi Lal Civil Aerodrome in Bhiwani. Member of Parliament Dharambir Singh, Bhiwani MLA Ghanshyam Saraf, Bawani Khera MLA Kapoor Singh Valmiki, and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.The Chief Minister said that Bhiwani, known as the land of brave soldiers, sportspersons, saints, and as the “Chhoti Kashi” of Haryana, is today witnessing a new chapter of development. He said that this project is not merely the inauguration of buildings but a significant step towards expanding modern aviation infrastructure and strengthening regional air connectivity in Haryana.He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the civil aviation sector in the country has witnessed unprecedented progress. The UDAN Scheme has connected smaller cities with air services, making air travel accessible to common citizens. In line with this vision, the Haryana Government is continuously working to enhance air connectivity across the state.The Chief Minister said that the state government’s objective is to develop Haryana as a major aviation hub in North India. In this direction, Hisar Airport is being developed rapidly, and flight services have already commenced from Hisar to Delhi, Ayodhya, Chandigarh, and Jaipur. Flights from Hisar to Jammu and Ahmedabad will also begin shortly, providing better travel facilities to passengers and boosting trade and tourism.The Chief Minister said that the new facilities developed at Ch. Bansi Lal Civil Aerodrome in Bhiwani will play a vital role in ensuring the safe operation of aircraft, expanding training activities, and strengthening aviation services. These facilities will also create new employment and training opportunities for youth in the aviation sector.He said that the Haryana Government is focusing on attracting investment, promoting industries, and creating modern infrastructure across the state. Strong air connectivity serves as the foundation of economic development, and the strengthening of Bhiwani Airport will provide fresh momentum to the development of western Haryana.Nayab Singh Saini said that the state government is developing civil aviation, road, rail, and digital connectivity in an integrated manner so that Haryana continues to maintain its leading position among the fastest-growing states in the country. He expressed confidence that these new facilities at the Bhiwani Civil Aerodrome would prove to be a milestone in regional development, investment promotion, tourism growth, and employment generation.The Chief Minister said that there is a shortage of pilots and doctors in the country, and the government is working to address this challenge. He informed that medical colleges have been established in 17 districts of Haryana. He further stated that before the elections, the government had made 217 commitments, of which 63 have already been fulfilled within one and a half years of its tenure. All crops in Haryana are being procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Similarly, free dialysis facilities are being provided to kidney patients in the state, benefiting around 2 lakh patients so far.The Chief Minister said that women belonging to families with an annual income of up to Rs. 1.80 lakh are being provided LPG cylinders at Rs. 500. So far, 15 lakh households have benefited under the scheme, on which the government has spent Rs. 300 crore.Similarly, the government had promised to provide Rs. 2,100 per month to women from families with an annual income of up to Rs. 1 lakh. A provision of Rs. 5,000 crore was made in the previous budget for this purpose. In the current year, the scope of the scheme has been expanded to include women from families with annual incomes up to Rs. 1.80 lakh, and a budget provision of Rs. 6,500 crore has been made for its implementation.On this occasion, Director General, Civil Aviation Department, Anshaj Singh, Vice-Chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for Women, Smt. Meena Parmar, and several other distinguished guests were present.Trainee Pilots HonouredDuring the programme in Bhiwani, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini honoured trainee pilots who had completed 200 hours of flying by awarding them badges and congratulated them on successfully completing their training. A total of 120 trainee pilots have completed their training from this aerodrome. The Chief Minister also directed officials to complete projects in a time-bound manner and continue efforts to expand the civil aviation sector in Haryana. Demonstration of Modern Two-Seater GyrocopterA modern luxury-category two-seater gyrocopter was also showcased during the event. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini personally inspected the gyrocopter and obtained information about its technology and features. The gyrocopter is highly useful for personal air travel, aerial tourism, surveillance and survey operations, photography and videography, as well as pilot training.*Haryana Government to launch Mechanised Cleaning System for Three District Hospitals*The Haryana Government is set to launch mechanised cleaning and sanitation services through the PPP mode at the District Hospitals of Gurugram, Jind and Kurukshetra. The initiative aims to ensure world-class cleanliness standards across critical patient care areas and create a safer, cleaner and more patient-friendly hospital environment. Approximately Rs. 3 to 3.5 crore will be spent annually on mechanised cleaning and sanitation services in these three hospitals.Giving further details, Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra said that maintaining a clean and hygienic hospital environment is essential for patient safety, infection prevention and improved healthcare outcomes. She said the mechanised cleaning system will help ensure consistent and efficient sanitation across hospital premises while enhancing the overall patient experience.Dr. Misra directed hospital authorities to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in toilets, wards, corridors, waiting halls, Intensive Care Units (ICUs), emergency departments, operation theatres and Mother and Child Health (MCH) units. She emphasised that special attention must be paid to high-footfall and critical care areas where hygiene standards directly impact patient safety and infection control.The ACS Health further instructed officers to establish robust monitoring mechanisms and ensure optimum deployment of sanitation manpower for round-the-clock supervision of housekeeping services. She stressed the need for regular inspections and accountability to sustain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital premises.Dr. Misra said the initiative is in line with the vision of Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, to transform government hospitals into modern, efficient and patient-centric healthcare institutions.
