Sub-Inspector of Police found dead in Kalaburagi - The HinduPublished - June 17, 2026 07:05 pm IST - KALABURAGIA Sub-Inspector of Police attached to the District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB) was found dead at his residence in the Ganga Nagar locality of Kalaburagi late on Tuesday night.The officer, identified as Basavaraj Herur, belonged to the 2014 batch of Sub-Inspectors and was serving in the DCRB unit in Kalaburagi for the last two years.According to preliminary information, Herur contacted a few friends shortly before the incident.Concerned by the call, his friends alerted his family members.His father rushed to the residence and found the room locked from the inside. After breaking open the door, family members found Herur dead, police sources said.Personnel from the R.G. Nagar Police Station visited the residence and carried out a preliminary inspection. The body was then shifted for post-mortem examination.The circumstances leading to the death are yet to be ascertained. The police have registered a case.
