People who donate to Shibuya through the hometown tax system can now receive in-game rewards in Final Fantasy XIV. There are six different rewards that you can get, and what you receive is based on how much money you donate. To receive your hometown tax donation reward, you can use this website. First, you choose which item you want (and how much you want to donate), and then you’ll go to the item page for it. Once you purchase it, you can get the serial code to redeem your reward in-game. Here are the rewards and how much money you’ll need to give to receive them: Collegiate Attire (Slacks): 7000 JPY Collegiate Attire (Skirt): 7000 JPY Magitek Attire: 7000 JPY Megashiba Mount: 9000 JPY 4 Dance Emotes Set: 11,000 JPY 5 Fantasia Set: 17,000 JPY For reference, the hometown tax system in Japan lets taxpayers in urban cities contribute to rural areas for a tax credit. It was created in response to people who leave their hometowns to work or study in the city, thus paying taxes there and giving nothing back to their hometowns, even though they had used public services there while growing up. To entice people to donate money, many cities offer gifts like food. As a note, some other popular perks from Shibuya include dog pee mats (really), a food processor, and cooking pot. Final Fantasy XIV is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The Switch 2 version will come out in August 2026.
