Despite Uganda’s growing music industry and the success of local artists at major venues, no Ugandan musician has yet held a concert at Mandela National Stadium, commonly known as Namboole Stadium.Among the artists who have publicly expressed interest in staging a concert at the iconic venue are Bobi Wine and Levixone. While Bobi Wine’s request to perform at the stadium was reportedly turned down in 2019, Levixone has revealed that his own plans were disrupted because the facility was undergoing renovation at the time. The gospel singer explained that he had already secured the venue and made the necessary payments for his planned Kikibombe concert before learning that the stadium would not be available. In 2023, we went to Kololo Airstrip, but before Kololo, we announced the Kikibombe concert at Namboole Stadium.
