To me Cristiano and Messi are only comparable when it comes to goalscoring, we can debate all day who is the greatest scorer of all-time between Messi and Ronaldo. Issue arises when we don't talk about the goals and we analyze their level without Messi on one side is arguably the greatest dribbler in history, with only prime Maradona possibly being on that level. Cristiano while a good dribbler has never been on a that level, especially when his dribbling is not very effective which is why he stopped doing it because he never had Messi level dribbling. And Messi is also arguably one of the best playmakers in history, we can see that in having having over 400_+ career assists and just being a monster at creating chances and making his teammates better. Cristiano in comparison has never been an elite playmaker, his vision is limited, his passing is not elite and he doesn't have the ability to make his teammates better which any elite playmakers should have So considering that Messi alongside from being a top 2 Goalscorer in history alongside Ronaldo also happens to be one of the greatest playmakers of all-time and arguably the greatest dribbler of all-time then I don't think there is much comparison here besides their goalscoring abilities, in general terms these 2 aren't close in level.   submitted by   /u/Comprehensive_Cup497 [link]   [comments]
