Gospel singer Levixone, born Sam Lucas Lubyogo, has opened up about the significance of his upcoming album, P2:11, describing it as a career-defining project that marks a major transition in his musical journey.Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, Levixone revealed that the title is drawn from the biblical scripture Philippians 2:11, which states that “every tongue acknowledges that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”According to the singer, the project represents years of growth and evolution from an artist known for releasing solo projects to one embracing the challenge of creating a complete body of work.“The title of the album is ‘P2:11’ (Philippians 2:11). It states that every tongue acknowledges that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. It has a lot of meaning.” Levixone reflected on his journey in music, recalling that his breakthrough came in 2009 with the release of his hit song Nonya Omu, which introduced him to a wider audience and opened doors for performances and bookings.“That is when I released ‘Nonya Omu,’ and the public started to recognize me as a musician. That’s when everything started.”Since then, the gospel star has maintained a unique approach to his craft, choosing to release music selectively rather than flooding the market with numerous projects.Levixone: My dream of filling Namboole stadium is still alive“I’ve been releasing one song at a time. I don’t release lots of music. I mostly drop a single project a year.” Levixone also highlighted his long-standing tradition of organizing annual concerts, a practice he began in 2012 and has maintained consistently ever since. The idea of recording an album emerged about five years ago after discussions with his management team, who encouraged him to explore a fresh creative direction.“When I got a new team, they told me we needed to try something fresh and suggested we do an album. That was five years ago.”Determined to create a project unlike any other in Uganda’s gospel music scene, Levixone and his team embarked on an extensive creative process that involved traveling across several countries in search of new sounds and musical influences. The singer disclosed that while the final album contains just 12 tracks, the journey involved recording more than 180 songs before narrowing the selection to the strongest material.“The album has only 12 songs, but we recorded over 180 songs. Out of those, we selected the best songs that truly represented the vision of the project.”The production process also involved collaborations with producers from across Africa, including Morocco, Zambia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe, as the team sought to create a distinctive and globally appealing sound. In addition to the music, Levixone revealed that six music videos have already been filmed and are awaiting release as part of the album rollout.P2:11 is scheduled for release on October 2 and is expected to mark a new chapter in Levixone’s career as one of Uganda’s leading gospel artists. The post Levixone reveals traveling to several countries in search of new sounds and musical influences appeared first on MBU.
