The demand for skilled careers in the United States is rising, particularly in electronics repair, as devices become more advanced and require skilled workers for professional repairs.Samsung Care, the company's repair program, is expanding availability of skilled careers in the United States by helping nurture the next generation of skilled technicians.Helping more people access skilled work in the USPart of Samsung's workforce development strategy is to help students obtain industry-recognized credentials. It helps in the development of the Wireless Industry Service Excellence certification which teaches the necessary skills for mobile device repair across manufacturers.Over 30 students from the Frisco, Texas Independent School District's Career and Technical education program took part in a five-day Smartphone Repair Bootcamp earlier this month. They were trained and awarded the Level 1 certification after hands-on experience in device repair.Samsung is now partnering with the City of Plano, Texas Economic Development Department and the CTIA to conduct a Smartphone and Device Repair Career Fair on June 18. It will connect job seekers with employers across the industry. Companies participating in this fair are actively recruiting entry-level technicians and aspiring engineers in device repair, mobile technologies, and robotics.Through its partnership with the nonPareil Institute, Samsung is also creating new opportunities for adults on the autism spectrum. The company recently hired a nonPareil participant in a parts inspection role within the Samsung Care organization.
