Aperture Capital, an operator-led VC firm focused on early-growth fintech and AI infrastructure in Europe, today welcomes Antony Jenkins CBE, founder, Chair and CEO of 10x Banking and former Group Chief Executive Officer of Barclays, as a member of its Investment Committee.Antony Jenkins is one of the most experienced and consequential figures in global financial services. As Group CEO of Barclays from 2012 to 2015, he led one of the world's largest and most complex banks through a period of significant transformation, overseeing major initiatives in culture, conduct and technology modernisation. His executive career at Barclays spanned more than a decade, including serving as CEO of Barclaycard and as CEO of Retail and Business Banking, having previously spent 16 years at Citi.In 2016, Antony founded 10x Banking, a London-based cloud-native core banking platform built to tackle the technology challenges he experienced first hand while leading global financial institutions. Under his leadership as Founder, Chair and CEO, 10x Banking has established itself as a leading 4th generation core banking solution empowering banks to adapt rapidly and prosper in a time of profound change for the industry. Antony’s public service roles are equally distinguished. He currently serves as an External Member of the Bank of England's Prudential Regulation Committee and as Chancellor of Manchester Metropolitan University. He has previously served as Chair of the Institute for Apprenticeships, Chair of Business in the Community, and as a Board Director at Fannie Mae.As a member of Aperture Capital's Investment Committee, Antony will contribute strategic oversight and deep domain expertise to the firm's investment decision-making, leveraging his rare combination of large-scale banking leadership and hands-on experience building a next-generation fintech from the ground up. His perspective spans both the demand side — having led institutions grappling with legacy technology and the imperative to modernise — and the supply side, as a founder delivering the infrastructure solutions that will define the future of financial services.Established in 2019, Aperture Capital is an international VC that prides itself on its deep fintech domain expertise, with a team of fintech operators who support portfolio companies, particularly with strategy and Go-to-Market (GTM). The firm invests across B2B fintech, cybersecurity and embedded finance in companies leveraging AI through strong network effects and data moats. It has backed more than 20 companies to date and delivered strong returns, with an IRR on its venture investments of more than 40%, and  notable exits through the sale of Metaco to Ripple in 2023 and the sale of additiv to Temenos this month.Antony's appointment follows the recent additions of former Temenos CEO Max Chuard as strategic investor and Investment Committee member, and former TransferMate CEO Sinead Fitzmaurice as Operating Partner, as Aperture continues to build an operator-led investment platform designed to deliver outsized outcomes for founders and investors alike. Antony joins Max Chuard, Ben Robinson, Partner at Aperture, Aleksandra Laska, a former Partner at RedAlpine, and Brett Bivens, a GP at Production Capital to complete the five-person committee.Antony Jenkins CBE, Investment Committee Member at Aperture Capital, said: “Financial services is undergoing a generational shift, driven by cloud infrastructure, AI and the urgent need for institutions to move beyond legacy constraints. Aperture Capital has built something genuinely distinctive: a VC firm run by operators who understand the complexity of this industry from the inside. Their model — investing capital alongside deep hands-on support — is exactly what early-growth fintechs need to scale successfully. I look forward to contributing to the Investment Committee and helping identify and support the companies that will shape the future of the industry.”Ben Robinson, Managing Partner at Aperture Capital, said: “Antony Jenkins is precisely the kind of advisor that sets Aperture apart. He has led at the very top of global banking and has then built a fintech from first principles. Very few people can claim either achievement, let alone both, which makes him uniquely positioned to help identify and scale a generation of fintech winners. His addition to the Investment Committee brings an extraordinary depth of judgement about where the real opportunities in financial services technology lie, and where the real barriers to adoption exist. We are delighted to welcome him.”NoYesInfrastructure16 Jun, 2026
