Two men arrested outside Paceville nightclubs with dozens of drug sachets hidden on their persons have pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges.The arrests followed an anonymous tip-off received by police regarding suspected drug dealing activity near the Axis complex in Paceville as reported by Times of Malta.Officers identified two individuals matching the description provided and approached 30-year-old Abdikarim Isman Omar, who resides in Marsascala, and 24-year-old Abdirahman Abdala Hassan, who lives in Santa Venera, near the Toy Room nightclub.A subsequent search uncovered what prosecutors described as a “cocktail” of around 50 sachets containing suspected drugs.According to court testimony, Hassan was found carrying 30 sachets containing a white substance in his trouser pocket, along with a pipe-like object, a mobile phone and cigarettes.Meanwhile, Omar was allegedly carrying 18 sachets containing a white substance, a hard white substance and another packet containing a brown and grey substance, all concealed inside his underwear.Both men were arrested on the spot and later questioned by investigators after waiving their right to legal assistance.When arraigned in court, the pair pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them.They will remain in custody at the Corradino Correctional Facility until sentencing, which has been scheduled for 27th October.The prosecution was led by Police Inspector Dylan Pace, assisted by lawyer Nadia Ciappara from the Office of the Attorney General. The accused were represented by legal aid lawyer Nadia Fiott.•
