Disney is making some sweeping changes to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.Inspired by turn-of-the-century seaside resorts, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort combines a prime location with dining, nightlife, and entertainment. Longtime staples, including ESPN Club, Big River Grille & Brewing Works, and the fan-favorite Jellyrolls, have all closed, while newer additions – such as The Cake Bake Shop (which has proven controversial amid complaints of high prices and multiple employee lawsuits alleging wage theft) and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs – have transformed parts of the BoardWalk’s dining lineup. Now, Disney is introducing even more changes.Disney Confirms Upcoming BoardWalk ChangesDisney has shared new details about the future of BoardWalk, confirming that several new experiences will begin opening in late 2026 as part of an ongoing evolution of the resort’s entertainment district. One of the biggest additions is Hurly-Burly, a new waterfront lounge inspired by a historic seaside theater. During the day, it will host trivia and family-friendly games before becoming a live music venue for guests aged 21 and older each evening.Credit: DisneyThe new venue will restore a live entertainment offering to the west end of the BoardWalk following the closure of Jellyrolls. The popular dueling piano bar shut its doors in April 2025 after nearly three decades, later announcing plans to reopen at a new location in Lake Buena Vista outside Walt Disney World.Hurly-Burly will serve classic coastal-inspired cocktails alongside light bites, with Disney promising a rotating lineup of live music designed to complement the BoardWalk’s existing nightlife.BoardWalk is also getting a new Basin store. The retailer – which already has a store in the Marketplace at Disney Springs – will offer its usual selection of soaps, bath bombs, body butters, bath salts, and other bath and body products, alongside several exclusive interactive experiences.Guests will be able to create custom bath teas, make their own soaps, and personalize purchases using a soap embossing press. Disney said the new location is designed to reflect the BoardWalk’s vintage seaside atmosphere.Credit: DisneyThe company also teased another addition still to come. A new quick-service restaurant is planned for Disney’s BoardWalk, with more details expected to be announced later this summer. These changes come as Disney prepares to make resort hopping more difficult for some guests. Starting later this month, visitors without a Disney Resort hotel reservation or qualifying dining booking will no longer be able to use Disney Springs bus or boat transportation to reach Disney hotels.Rumors suggest it could later expand these restrictions to other transportation hubs, including the FriendShip Boat that serves Disney’s BoardWalk. What do you think of the changes coming to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort? The post Disney Announces Immediate Plan to Change 30-Year Old BoardWalk Resort appeared first on Inside the Magic.
