Brighton and Hove Albion have reportedly rejected two offers from Tottenham Hotspur for defender Jean Paul van Hecke, and according to Sky Sports, the Netherlands international is now demanding clarity over his future. The Seagulls are believed to be asking for more than £60 million for Van Hecke, whose contract with the south-coast club has a year left to run.Speaking to the press ahead of Netherlands’ World Cup opener against Japan on Sunday, the 26-year-old centre-back said he remains focused on his obligations towards his national team at the tournament in North America, and admitted his future is unknown to him at this point. He expects it to be resolved later in the summer.“Of course, things are also happening and I know that myself too, but that’s not for now, that’s more after the World Cup,” he said.“I will then see where I play.“I have also said very clearly that I would like to have clarity for myself before the World Cup.“And I have that too, but then for now, for myself, it’s just clear, I just want to play the World Cup as well as possible.“That clarity will probably come after the World Cup when I make that step, then it’s clear to everyone.”Van Hecke joined Brighton from Heerenven in 2022, and he’s made a total of 131 appearances for the Seagulls over the four years at the Amex. The post Van Hecke wants clarity on future after Brighton rejected two Spurs offers appeared first on SoccerNews.
