Rengaraj, a former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, who retired as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax.The allegation is that when Rengaraj was the Principle Commissioner of Income Tax, Coimbatore, in 2020-24, he amassed assets more than his known sources of income.The FIR stated that during that period, Mr. Rengaraj had constructed a farmhouse and purchased land worth ₹16 crore for real estate business.
