Universal Orlando Resort has confirmed the upcoming closure of one of its newest Harry Potter additions. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has transformed Universal Orlando Resort over the past 15 years. It began with Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure in 2010 before expanding with Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida in 2014, connected by the Hogwarts Express. Together, the lands introduced groundbreaking attractions with immersive storytelling – such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure – and helped redefine the modern theme park experience.Credit: UniversalUniversal Epic Universe officially opened on May 22, 2025, introducing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic as the resort’s third Harry Potter land. Rather than returning to Hogwarts, the land recreates wizarding Paris in the 1920s, inspired by the Fantastic Beasts films. Alongside themed shops, dining, and interactive wand experiences, the land features two headline attractions: the live stage spectacular Le Cirque Arcanus and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry begins with guests traveling from Paris to the British Ministry of Magic via the Métro-Floo. Set during the trial of Dolores Umbridge, the ride combines large-scale practical sets, advanced animatronics, motion simulation, and omnidirectional lift vehicles as Harry, Ron, and Hermione attempt to stop Umbridge’s escape.Meanwhile, Le Cirque Arcanus blends live performers, puppetry, special effects, and magical creatures in a theatrical experience inspired by the Fantastic Beasts films.Credit: UniversalNow, just over one year after its opening, Epic Universe has announced the upcoming closure of the attraction.Universal Announces Closure Timeframe for ‘Harry Potter’ SpectacularUniversal has confirmed that Le Cirque Arcanus at Epic Universe will temporarily close beginning June 21, 2026.The live stage attraction is scheduled to remain unavailable through June 30 before reopening to guests on July 1.Le Cirque Arcanus at Epic Universe will be temporarily closed starting June 21st, 2026 through June 30th, 2026. Given that it is scheduled to last just 10 days, the downtime appears more consistent with routine maintenance than a significant refurbishment or overhaul. It joins a string of other ongoing closures at Universal Orlando Resort, including Jurassic Park River Adventure (set to reopen in November) and Pteranodon Flyers (reopening in July) at Islands of Adventure, and Universal Orlando’s Horror Makeup Show (currently undergoing a reimagining with a reopening slated for winter), and Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp, including Po Live! (reopening in July) at Universal Studios Florida.MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack reopened at the latter this week with updated effects.Credit: UniversalAlthough The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will soon temporarily lose one attraction, it may not stay the same for long. Earlier this year, Universal filed construction permits for an expansion pad believed to be connected to the land. The documents reference roughly 150,000 square feet of construction, fueling speculation that a major addition is right around the corner.Have you experienced Le Cirque Arcanus at Epic Universe? The post Epic Universe Confirms Closure of ‘Harry Potter’ Attraction One Year After Opening appeared first on Inside the Magic.
