Hunter Biden posted a lengthy message on X criticizing the UFC Freedom 250 event that was held on the South Lawn of the White House. In the post, he also challenged Donald Trump Jr. to a cage match. The post was written in the form of a letter addressed to podcast host Joe Rogan, who had told critics of the event to stop complaining, per NY Post. Hunter Biden argued in his post that the event disrespected the White House, which he described as a public space that belongs to the American people, not to any single president. In his post, Hunter Biden wrote, “The White House does not belong to Donald Trump. It does not belong to any president. It belongs to the people.” He also compared the event to ancient Roman practices, writing, “To treat it as Caesar treated the Colosseum is antithetical to everything our founding fathers fought for.” Hunter Biden compared the event to ancient Rome He continued the comparison by stating, “This is not Rome. Presidents are not emperors doling out bread and circuses for the peasants”. The remarks were apparently meant to criticize what he viewed as an inappropriate use of the White House grounds for the fighting event. This is also not the first time Hunter Biden has proposed a cage match with Trump’s sons. Hunter Biden acknowledged that the UFC, along with Rogan and UFC founder Dana White, had built a respected brand, calling it a “bona fide American success story.” However, he criticized the specific choice to hold Sunday’s event at the White House, describing it as “an exhibition of imperial domination, not a celebration of our 250th anniversary as a democracy.” He also wrote, “By holding the event on the South Lawn, what he was saying to the rest of us is: ‘This is my house. I own it. I will do with it what I please. I’ll build a colosseum and have the gladiators fight under my gaze.'” The post closed with the line, “the president is our servant. Not our Caesar”. Dear Joe,I wish I could sit down with you face to face and explain why so many of us were offended by the UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House. For me, it had nothing to do with the UFC or who showed up for the fights. The brand you and Dana have built is a bona fide… pic.twitter.com/cf47rjMops— Hunter Biden (@HunterBiden) June 18, 2026 Following his criticism of the event, Hunter Biden issued a direct challenge to Donald Trump Jr., writing, “P.S. Cage match between me and Don. Jr? Your call on the venue. Anywhere but the South Lawn.”  The UFC Freedom 250 event was not without its own controversy in the days surrounding the fight card. Separately, reports surfaced of allegedly leaked DMs about a rigged fight involving Eric Trump and a UFC analyst, though both parties reportedly said the messages were fake. The cage fight challenge comes amid other recent public statements from Hunter Biden, as he recently appeared on a This is Gavin Newsom podcast hosted by California Governor Gavin Newsom and talked about Graham Platner, a potential 2028 presidential run, and many more.  As of this writing, neither Donald Trump Jr. nor representatives for the UFC have publicly responded to Hunter Biden’s post or his challenge. Joe Rogan, to whom the letter was addressed, has yet to issue any response.
