My mother had a leather couch and a cat who liked to spray/pee on things. Eventually she gave up trying to clean it and she called the sanitation department for a bulk pickup. She left it at the curb as directed for them to pick up the next day. Within hours it was gone. So I called sanitation and canceled the pickup. The next morning, there was the couch again. It makes me laugh, thinking someone must have thought they scored a gorgeous couch, the greatest curb find ever, only to get it home and smell it. And then have to load it back up and bring it back. And no, I don't know why they didn't just leave it at their own curb and call trash to pick it up. All I can think is they live a couple miles away over the border into NYC and you cant just leave a couch on the curb or you'll get a ticket. Or their wife was so fed up with the constant scavenging and threatened to divorce him if he didn't get it out of her sight immediately.
