Revised Budget envisions hike in daily milk production to 1 crore litres within three years - The HinduPublished - June 19, 2026 07:07 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAMDaily milk production will be increased to one crore litres a day within three years, Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan said, presenting the Revised Budget for the 2026-27 fiscal.At present, Kerala produces 70 lakh litres a day, whereas the daily requirement is 86 lakh litres. Under the production enhancement programme, surplus milk will be converted into value-added products.An allocation of ₹102.88 crore has been made for the dairy development in the Revised Budget. This includes ₹36.37 crore for strengthening commercial dairy development and milk shed development, ₹7 crore for cattle feed subsidy and ₹8.50 crore for fodder production and conservation.The Revised Budget has an allocation of ₹1,534.98 crore for the Agriculture and allied sectors.
