[HERE]MSNOW marked Father’s Day by giving a glowing platform to the family of Salah Sarsour, the president of Wisconsin’s largest mosque, after he was released from ICE custody following a ruling from a Trump-appointed federal judge.As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, U.S. District Judge James Patrick Hanlon, who was appointed by President Trump, ordered the release of Sarsour after ruling that he had raised a “substantial” First Amendment retaliation claim.The left-wing media wasted no time turning the story into another emotional anti-ICE segment.During the MSNOW interview, Sarsour was described as a “community leader,” a husband, a father of six, and a grandfather of nine. His son Kareem spoke about the emotional reunion, saying the family had been living a “nightmare” for more than 80 days and describing the moment Sarsour returned home to his family and community.But what the segment largely avoided was the obvious question: Why was Sarsour in ICE custody in the first place?According to the government, Sarsour is not merely some random man targeted for criticizing Israel. He was detained because officials considered him a foreign policy concern. Sarsour and his lawyers claim he was targeted for pro-Palestinian speech, but conservatives are right to ask why the media keeps framing these cases as if there are no national security concerns at all.The same radical movements that fueled anti-American, pro-Hamas campus protests under Joe Biden are now being defended by mainstream media and protected by activist judges.The left wants Americans to believe this is simply about free speech. But free speech does not mean the United States must ignore foreign nationals or legal permanent residents who have alleged ties to extremist movements or openly support terrorist causes.America has every right to decide who is allowed to stay in this country.During the interview, Sarsour’s family also attacked the conditions inside ICE detention, claiming he lost 35 pounds and describing the facility as a “dungeon.” MSNOW amplified those claims while briefly noting that DHS has denied accusations of discrimination and says detainees receive meals and medical care.This has become the media’s routine playbook. They focus on tears, family reunions, and emotional narratives while brushing past the deeper issue: whether people who support or are connected to terrorist movements should be allowed to remain in the United States.We saw the same thing with Mahmoud Khalil, the Columbia “protest” leader who helped represent the antisemitic and anti-American campus movement and was also released after becoming a cause célèbre for the left.The message from the left is clear: ICE is the villain, activist judges are heroes, and anyone tied to anti-Israel radicalism deserves a sympathetic media makeover.The United States should not be forced to host people who support terrorist organizations, sympathize with Hamas, or undermine American interests from inside our borders.
