The Malta Girl Guides met President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola during a visit to the European Parliament in Brussels, an encounter described as an important moment for the organisation and its members.During the meeting, the President of Malta Girl Guides Carmen Camilleri presented Metsola with an MGG national scarf as a token of appreciation, while Chief Commissioner Rachel Aquilina presented a commemorative memento marking the Association’s visit.The visit also provided the organisation with an opportunity to showcase its values, history and ongoing work within the Maltese islands, with particular focus on empowering girls and women to reach their potential while promoting active citizenship. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)As part of the programme, the delegation toured the Hemicycle and attended an orientation session on the work of the European Parliament and its institutions, gaining further insight into EU decision-making processes and the importance of youth participation at European level.Earlier in the week, the Malta Girl Guides also visited the European Commission, where they met representatives from the cabinet of European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport Glenn Micallef.Discussions centred on issues affecting young people, including online safety, youth policy, and opportunities available across Europe.The delegation was made up of 40 women from the Association’s national board, council, international team, and volunteer groups across Malta.Well done girls!•
