The MLS Players Union released the salaries of every player in the league on Tuesday, with Lionel Messi, Son Heung-Min, and Rodrigo De Paul headlining the list.Messi is unsurprisingly MLS’s highest-paid player, currently earning $28.3 million for reigning league champions Inter Miami. The 38-year-old has scored nine goals and registered four assists in 11 league appearances so far during the 2026 league campaign.Son ranks No. 2 on the list, earning $11.1 million in guaranteed compensation with LAFC. The South Korean star has just one goal this season, but leads MLS with eight assists in 10 appearances. De Paul, who joined Inter Miami last season from Atletico Madrid, has five assists for the Herons this year. The Argentine international is earning just under $10 million in guaranteed compensation ($9.6 million), a large increase from his $2 million salary that he had whilst on loan in 2025.Hirving Lozano, who is not in San Diego FC’s plans this year, ranks in the fourth spot at $9.3 million. Despite earning one of the highest salaries in MLS, the 30-year-old was also left out of the Mexican national team’s provisional FIFA World Cup roster. Atlanta United and Paraguayan star Miguel Almiron rounds out the top-five by earning $7.8 million. Almiron has zero goals and only three assists in seven MLS appearances this year after missing part of the season due to injury.
