My neighbor found out I'm a nurse and now texts me medical questions at 11pm like I'm her personal on-call doctor

Wait 5 sec.

It started small. She saw me come home in scrubs once back in like September and after that something shifted. First it was just "oh hey quick question" in the hallway, what's a normal heart rate, is this rash something to worry about, that kind of thing. I'd answer because it takes 30 seconds and she seemed genuinely anxious. Then it moved to texts. Still okay I guess, it's a neighbor, whatever. But they started coming later and later and the questions got more specific. Last month she texted me at 11:40pm a photo of her husband's foot. Just. a photo of a foot. "does this look infected to you, asking for a friend lol." It's her husband's foot. I can see his ankle in the frame. Two weeks ago she asked me to "just take a quick look" at her mom who was visiting. I said I'm not really able to do that, I'm off the clock, she should see her GP. She said "but you're right here though." I am right here. In my own apartment. Eating leftover pasta. Then last week she knocked on my door at like 7am on my day off asking if I had a blood pressure cuff she could borrow because her mom "seemed a bit off." I don't have one at home, I'm a nurse not a clinic. She looked genuinely shocked that I don't own medical equipment personally. Yesterday she texted asking if I could "just pop by" after my shift to check on her mom again because she's been tired. I said she needs to take her to a doctor. She said "yeah but that takes so long, you're literally next door." I've started leaving my scrubs in a bag so she doesn't see them in the hallway submitted by /u/Cr4terFalcon [link] [comments]
