James Maddison’s reaction to Tottenham Hotspur’s controversial draw with Leeds United has now sparked further debate, with a former referees’ chief claiming the Spurs midfielder should face action from the FA.The 1-1 draw between Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United on Monday night was another frustrating result for the Lilywhites, who missed a golden opportunity to move four points clear of 18th-placed West Ham United.Tottenham took the lead early in the second half after Mathys Tel scored a stunning goal, but Spurs were pegged back soon after when the Frenchman quickly turned from hero to villain by giving away a cynical foul in the box, which saw Leeds awarded a penalty that Lewin converted.However, late in the game, James Maddison – who only recently returned from a long-term injury that kept him out for over a year – had a penalty appeal of his own.
