It’s official: something new is coming to Tom Sawyer Island at Disneyland Park. Here’s everything we know about the change, which comes almost a year after Walt Disney World Resort closed its version of the Frontierland icon to make way for a new Cars (2006)-themed area at the Magic Kingdom.Tom Sawyer Retheme at DisneylandCredit: DisneyOn May 12, WDWNT spotted a sign for “Mickey’s Park Rangers” on Tom Sawyer Island at Disneyland Park. The Mickey-head-shaped logo also features the slogan “Explore, Discover, Collect.”Disney cast members confirmed to the outlet that the scavenger hunt will take over Tom Sawyer Island this summer, as well as other parts of Disneyland Park, including boats, canoes, and, potentially, the Disneyland Railroad. Tom Sawyer Island, the Rivers of America, and the Liberty Square Riverboat closed permanently at Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom Park in the summer of 2025 to make way for, coincidentally, another national park-themed area.Construction is now underway on Piston Peak National Park, a Cars-themed addition to Frontierland. The Pixar-inspired area will feature two new attractions: a rally race thrill ride and a family-friendly experience introducing a new character: Park Ranger J.
