BANISH Goes Stainless with Two New Affordable Suppressors

BANISH Suppressors is expanding its catalog with two new stainless-steel cans, the VRMT 223 SS and the HNT 30 SS, both priced at $579. The pair represents BANISH’s push into a more accessible price tier, using all-welded stainless-steel construction to bring the cost down without abandoning performance targets that BANISH says are competitive with pricier options in the market. “Our goal with the stainless-steel suppressors was to expand the BANISH catalog in order to meet customers at a lower price point without sacrificing performance,” said Brandon Maddox, BANISH Suppressors Founder and CEO. “We are making pursuit-driven firearm suppressors more accessible.” The two cans are nearly identical dimensionally, each measuring 5.96 inches long with a 1.61-inch diameter and weighing 13 oz. Both use the industry-standard HUB mount system and ship with direct-thread adapters, a 1/2x28 for the VRMT 223 SS and a 5/8x24 for the HNT 30 SS, with full compatibility with the HUB mounting system. The fully welded construction is by design rather than a cost-cutting measure, as BANISH notes, it contributes to long-term durability, though it does mean neither can is recommended for rimfire use due to the difficulty of clearing the fouling that rimfire cartridges leave behind in sealed baffles. The VRMT 223 SS is slotted into BANISH’s Varmint family and is sized for bolt-action and modern sporting rifles. It covers .224-caliber and smaller cartridges from .17 Hornet through .22 Creedmoor, including .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO. BANISH rates the VRMT 223 SS at an average of 25 dB of sound reduction. The HNT 30 SS joins the Hunt collection as a do-all centerfire .30-caliber option, rated from .17 Hornet up through .300 RUM, and delivers an average of 30 dB of sound reduction according to BANISH.
