Prime Minister Robert Abela insisted Labour can deliver on all of its election promises, saying the party’s proposals are fully costed and backed by Malta’s “strong, resilient economy”.Speaking during a campaign event in San Ġwann, Abela defended Labour’s growing list of pledges amid criticism over spending and long-term affordability.“We never promised anything to anyone without costing our measures,” Abela said. “We can confidently say we can deliver on every promise.”The Prime Minister said Labour’s manifesto is heavily focused on healthcare and family life, pointing towards proposals including extended maternity and paternity leave, more flexible working arrangements and expanded medical screening programmes.Abela also defended the government’s recently announced €1.5 billion hospital revamp project, which includes plans for St Luke’s, Karin Grech and Gozo General Hospital. However, he acknowledged that the full redevelopment project could take up to 15 years to complete. The event also included testimonies from people who benefited from government healthcare policies, including IVF treatment and mental health support services.Do you believe Labour can deliver on all these promises?•
