Rangers vs Hibernian predictions and betting tips – Gers out of title race

Wait 5 sec.

Rangers are out of the Scottish Premiership title race and they are now guaranteed to finish outside the top two. This has been a hugely underwhelming season for the Gers, who will play their final home game of 2025/26 in midweek.Hibernian are the visitors to Ibrox on Wednesday night. Can they deepen Rangers’ woes by getting a positive result?Hibernian or draw – 31/20 with SpreadexUnder 2.5 goals – 7/5 with 247BetDraw at half-time – 6/4 with BetwayRangers vs Hibernian head to head overviewDate: Wednesday 13th May.Kick-off: 8pm.Venue: Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, Scotland.Where to watch: Not being shown live in the UK.Referee: TBC.VAR: Yes.Last meeting: 1st February 2026; Hibernian 0-0 Rangers.Last 10 matches: Rangers – 6 wins; Hibernian – 1 win; Draws – 3.Favourite to win: Rangers.Rangers vs Hibernian predicted lineupsRangers expected lineup: Butland; Tavernier, Fernandez, Djiga, Rommens; Barron, Chukwuani; Gassama, Aasgaard, Moore; Chermiti.Hibernian expected lineup: Sallinger; O’Hora, Hanley, Iredale; Passlack, Chaiwa, Barlaser, Obita; Campbell; Elding, Boyle.Rangers vs Hibernian predictionsThe Scottish Premiership title will not be heading to Ibrox this season. In truth, that looked like being the case even before the Old Firm derby on Sunday, but a 3-1 defeat by Celtic officially eliminated Rangers from the hunt for the crown. You could argue that the Gers did well to even be in with a shout with three games remaining. After all, they endured a nightmare start to the campaign under Russell Martin, who was sacked in early October when Rangers were eighth in the table.Danny Rohl replaced him a couple of weeks later and Rangers soon began to climb the standings. By the time of the split in the middle of April, the Gers were second and just a point off Heart of Midlothian in top spot. Then it all fell apart – and Rohl must take his share of the blame for the collapse. Consecutive defeats by Motherwell, Hearts and Celtic (the three other teams that make up the top four) have consigned Rangers to a third-place finish. In the period of the season that matters most, the Gers fell to the occasion. Rohl’s record in the Old Firm derby has not helped him. On Sunday he became the first Rangers boss since Dick Advocaat to lose three games in a row against Celtic. The club can now start to plan for next season, but a third-place finish means they will miss out on the Champions League qualifiers. That means Rangers will not be in either of Europe’s top two competitions next term, since they no longer have a path into the Europa League either. It has been a season to forget.Rangers vs Hibernian betting tipsRangers face Hibernian in their final home game of the Scottish Premiership season.More misery for Rangers? The frustration in the Ibrox crowd will be palpable when Hibernian head to Glasgow on Wednesday night.Getting back into the title conversation and then blowing it in spectacular fashion is even more painful than a distant third-place finish would have been.Rangers’ players are low on confidence after three losses on the bounce, and Hibernian should be able to take advantage of the doom and gloom.Hibs will not necessarily win this game, but the odds on them getting something are too attractive to overlook. Back a Hibernian win or a draw at 31/20 with Spreadex Goals on the low endThere have been goals galore in Rangers’ recent Premiership matches. Their last six have featured a grand total of 32.Yet there are reasons to believe the pattern will not continue in Wednesday’s clash with Hibernian. For one, we expect Rangers to be flat after the disappointment of that season-ending defeat by Celtic. Hibs will look to capitalise on that by making themselves tough to break down. With nothing left to play for, Rangers attack will not fizz in the way it has done of late. It is worth a punt on a low-scoring game at Ibrox. Tip under 2.5 goals at 7/5 with 247Bet Hibernian can frustrate RangersOf course, it is possible that Rangers come out and deliver a stellar showing now that the pressure is off. But it is hard to turn your form around when it has gone south and there are no longer any targets to aim at.Rangers have better players than Hibernian, and that gulf in quality may eventually decide the match in their favour. But it is not hard to envisage a scenario where Hibs make life tough for Rangers in the opening 45 minutes at a minimum. Keep in mind, too, that the Gers rank a lowly fifth in the first-half home table in 2025/26.
