Momentum has officially launched its manifesto for the General Election, unveiling 259 proposals focused on governance reform, sustainability, housing, workers’ rights and economic change.Titled For A Just & Beautiful Malta, the manifesto is built around four main pillars: transparent governance, environmental sustainability, economic justice and a more resilient society.Among the key proposals are plans to introduce e-voting and voting through embassies for Maltese living abroad, require a two-thirds parliamentary majority for major appointments, strengthen anti-corruption institutions and publish all government spending and contracts online.Momentum is also proposing major planning reforms, including a two-year moratorium on new high-rise permits, stronger enforcement against illegal developments and a restructuring of the Planning Authority. On the environmental front, the party wants Malta to become carbon neutral by 2050, accelerate offshore wind and solar projects, phase out single-use plastics and introduce stronger biodiversity protections. The manifesto also includes proposals for a €360 weekly living wage phased in over four years, tax-free COLA, expanded parental leave and reforms targeting speculative vacant properties.“We are not just offering promises; we are offering a systemic redesign of how our country functions,” General Secretary Mark Camilleri Gambin said during the launch.Momentum said the document was developed through consultations involving Vision Circles, organisations and independent experts.Which Momentum proposal stands out to you most?•
