Two Dutch men have been arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into the alleged importation, trafficking and possession of drugs.The arrests follow an investigation that earlier this year led to another person being charged in court over alleged drug importation and trafficking offences. Police said further investigations linked the two men to the same alleged criminal network.The suspects, aged 34 and 38, were arrested in Swieqi on Monday afternoon.Searches carried out at one of the men’s residences in Swieqi led police to seize drug-related items, along with around 890g of a substance suspected to be amphetamine and 550g of a substance suspected to be ketamine.A separate search at the second suspect’s residence in Ħal Kirkop uncovered more drug-related items, pink pills, a packet containing a substance allegedly cocaine, and a number of forged documents.Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has appointed an inquiry into the case.The two men remain in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court today at around 10:30am before Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech.•
