Tbf in england disability payments aren't like America, we can literally be millionaires and still be eligible for disability. I do think it's a bit barbaric that American disability payments don't allow the claimant to work or have more than 2 grand on them at any time. The idea behind the British system is that the state gives you disability money to help keep you in work and or education. The severely disabled people here who will never be able to work get disability and also make arrangements with their local council for all the other things disability doesn't cover
