Prime Minister Robert Abela has been confirmed as Leader of the Labour Party after securing 95.3% support from delegates during the party’s Extraordinary General Conference.According to a report by One, Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg was also confirmed as Deputy Leader for Parliamentary Affairs with 97.7% support, while MEP Alex Agius Saliba was confirmed as Deputy Leader for Party Affairs with 91.6%.The Labour Party described the outcome as a clear confirmation that delegates want the current leadership to continue strengthening the party.Following an initial round of voting on Saturday, delegates continued casting their ballots from Tuesday evening at the Labour Party National Centre in Ħamrun, with voting continuing throughout Wednesday in both Ħamrun and at the Labour Centre in Ta’ Sannat, Gozo.The Extraordinary General Conference, held under the theme “Int Malta – Il-Ħolma Tiegħek, Il-Proġett Tagħna”, will conclude today at 6pm at the Labour Party National Centre in Ħamrun, where Abela, Borg, Agius Saliba and Labour Party President Alex Sciberras are scheduled to address delegates.What do you make of the Labour Party leadership vote? View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)•
