But, the other parts of the State have a probability of receiving below-normal rainfall.Like most of the country, A.P. may also see above-normal maximum and minimum temperatures this month, though weather experts are unable to specify the degree of deviation yet.“We can expect a few days to be hotter than normal and other days cooler than normal. But, the temperatures will not remain consistently high. The discussions have now drifted away from the topic of temperatures to rainfall activity,” said S. Karunasagar, senior scientist at the IMD, Amaravati. Experts are now focussed on rainfall activity, which is influenced by the El Nino conditions, stronger in August and September.In the month of June, the State received about-normal rainfall as the weather experts had predicted earlier. According to the IMD’s rainfall status, Alluri Sitharama Raju district has reported large excess, while Parvathipuram Manyam, Srikakulam, Annamayya and West Godavari have reported deficient rainfall between June 1 and 30. The other districts have reported either normal or excess rainfall during this period.On Tuesday, except for Visakhapatnam district that received light showers, it remained a dry day. Until July 3, the State may see thunderstorm activity and light showers. The IMD has given an isolated heavy rainfall warning for coastal A.P. from July 4.Published - June 30, 2026 09:33 pm ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
