₹40 lakh worth food science laboratory inaugurated at women’s university in Hyderabad - The HinduPublished - June 30, 2026 09:08 pm IST - HYDERABADThe Rotary Club of Hyderabad East (RCHE) on Tuesday inaugurated a food science innovation laboratory, established at a cost of ₹40 lakh, at Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University (VCIWU) on Monday.The project was implemented by RCHE with support from The Rotary Foundation glocal grant and Rotary Club of Canton, USA, RI District 6400 and RI District 5810.Official said the NABL-accredited laboratory has been designed to provide students and researchers with world-class facilities for advanced food testing, product development, research, quality assurance, and skill development. The laboratory houses four specialised units of food testing & quality assurance, product development & innovation, research & analysis, and training & skill development unit. The facility will help students gain hands-on experience and acquire practical skills.Vice-Chancellor Surya Dhananjay, thanking the Rotary, said it has consistently helped the university through initiatives that directly benefited students.Rotary Club of Hyderabad East president Govind Putta said that vocational training and skill development have been the Club’s central focus during the year. The inaugurated laboratory is expected to benefit nearly 5,000 students over the next seven years, he said.District governor, Rotary International District 3150, S. V. Ram Prasad and Foundation chair K.
