Former Kawempe South MP, Hon. Mubaraka Munyagwa, believes men should refrain from carrying out DNA tests on children their wives have already acknowledged as theirs.According to Munyagwa, seeking DNA confirmation in such circumstances is a waste of time. He argued that once a wife assures her husband that a child is his, there should be no reason to doubt her, especially after the child has been accepted into the family and given the father’s surname. If my wife tells me the child is mine, I have no reason to doubt her. I can’t take my children for DNA tests, especially after giving them my name. Men should stop wasting their time.He made the remarks while commenting on the recent DNA tests conducted on 25 people who claimed to be children of the late Kadongo Kamu legend Paul Job Kafeero. The tests reportedly established that only four of the claimants were biologically related to the late singer.Rising star Mimi Kampala says no to dating distractionsThe findings sparked mixed reactions among the public, with many calling for independent DNA tests to be conducted in the United Kingdom and South Africa. Some critics argued that several of those whose claims were rejected appeared genuinely shocked and emotionally distressed by the government’s findings, prompting demands for further verification.Hon.
