Accountant General Office accountant caught accepting ₹13,000 bribe in Lokayukta trap - The HinduPublished - July 02, 2026 11:21 pm IST - BengaluruBased on the complaint, the Lokayukta police registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.  | Photo Credit: Getty ImagesOfficials of the Karnataka Lokayukta Police trapped and arrested an accountant attached to the Accountant General Office in Bengaluru while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹13,000 from a complainant on Thursday.The accused has been identified as Adarsha Kumar Singh, an accountant at the Accountant General Office on Park House Road, Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru.According to Lokayukta officials, the complainant, N. Ramesh of Peenya, had approached the agency alleging that the accused demanded a bribe to facilitate the release of ₹13.90 lakh, which had been deposited as per a court order.Based on the complaint, the Lokayukta police registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. During the inquiry, the accused allegedly demanded ₹16,000 and later agreed to accept ₹13,000. A trap was laid under the supervision of Shiva Prakash Devaraju, Superintendent of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru City-1.
