Ramesh of Peenya, had approached the agency alleging that the accused demanded a bribe to facilitate the release of ₹13.90 lakh, which had been deposited as per a court order.Based on the complaint, the Lokayukta police registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. During the inquiry, the accused allegedly demanded ₹16,000 and later agreed to accept ₹13,000. A trap was laid under the supervision of Shiva Prakash Devaraju, Superintendent of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru City-1.
