Fasig-Tipton, in partnership with the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association (CTBA), will offer a $500,000 bonus tied to this year's California Fall Yearlings Sale, the auction company said via a Thursday press release. The bonus will be awarded to the first sale graduate that wins a Grade I race in the United States at age 2 or 3 and applies only to horses offered in this year's auction. Horses both sold, or reserve not met (RNA), will qualify.Should a sales graduate win a top-level race, the bonus will be divided equally between the owner of the horse at the time of the win, and the owner of horse when it was offered at the 2026 yearling sale.“We are excited to offer this lucrative sale bonus at this year's California Fall Yearlings Sale,” said Fasig-Tipton's California Representative Mike Machowsky. “California has a long and storied history of producing top-class horses, and we hope this bonus will give extra encouragement to both sellers and buyers to participate in this year's sale.”CTBA President Doug Burge said, “This is a very creative and lucrative incentive to add even more value to the California Fall Yearlings Sale. The CTBA is very pleased to partner with Fasig-Tipton and we are extremely appreciative of all their support in California. This promotion should further incentivize people to purchase and race Cal-breds, as well as encourage the state's breeders to support the sale with the best of their yearling crops.”The Fasig-Tipton California Fall Yearlings Sale will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Fairplex in Pomona, California.
