“The Supreme Court on Thursday cleared the way for a former Fox News reporter to be required to reveal a confidential source or pay $800 a day in court fines, in a case with broader implications for the work of journalists,” the New York Times reports.“Catherine Herridge, the reporter, had refused to reveal her sources for articles she wrote about a scientist who was investigated by the FBI. She asked the justices to intervene after she was ordered by a federal judge to pay daily sanctions until she disclosed the information.”
