Whether you loved it, tolerated it or couldn’t wait to get off it, the MV Nikolaos is officially on its way out.Gozo Channel has launched a tender to lease a fourth ferry for an initial two-year term, with the new vessel set to replace the MV Nikolaos once it joins the fleet.The Greek-flagged ferry has operated on the Malta-Gozo route since 2019, becoming a familiar sight for thousands of commuters and visitors making the crossing every day.The new ferry will take over the Nikolaos’ role once the leasing process is complete.For many regular passengers, the Nikolaos won’t exactly be remembered as the fleet’s fan favourite.
