Just the thing for the guy who wants to carry concealed at a rodeo. [North American Arms] When you think of true deep concealment handguns, a few companies go a bit deeper than anyone else. North American Arms is one of the stealthiest of those companies, making hideout guns that can be stowed away in a spot that you wouldn’t normally think of—and this limited-edition revolver, made to celebrate America’s birthday bash this weekend, is the perfect example. Although considering the blinged-out look of the belt-buckle holster and the handgun inside, maybe the point isn’t to hide it at all, but to show it off? And some people think they do it pretty well. In case you forgot how old America is, they have it right there on the grip. [North American Arms] North American Arms’ lineup focuses on small revolvers and semi-autos made to be hidden away. Founded in 1975 after Rocky Mountain Arms collapsed, North American Arms turned to producing that earlier company’s patterns, some of which were designed by legendary revolver wizard Dick Casull. North American Arms has been in business now for more than five decades, celebrating their 50th anniversary last year the best way they knew how—with a special-edition revolver that was made to store inside a belt buckle. Now, they’re doing the same for 2026, as the U.S. celebrates its 250th birthday on July 4. The only revolver that will fit the buckle is the company’s 1 ⅛-inch .22LR model. [North American Arms] What they’ve got cookingYou might be cooking up hamburgers or sausages on a barbecue this weekend, but North American Arms is cooking up a new rimfire revolver set that is similar to last year’s 50th-anniversary collection. It has a corrosion-resistant star-spangled finish, and the grip bears an insert inscribed with the number 250, celebrating this anniversary of America’s independence. Here’s how they describe the revolver and accessories at the North American Arms website:“Celebrate 250 years of American independence with the North American Arms USA 250th Anniversary LR Belt Buckle. This special edition features a bronze and silver-colored buckle housing an exclusive black Cerakote® 1 1/8″ .22 LR mini-revolver. Bronze-burnished stars on the cylinder add a patriotic touch that honors America’s legacy. Each buckle also includes a commemorative USA 250th Anniversary challenge coin, making this set a fitting tribute to America’s past, present, and future.“Built to securely hold the included mini-revolver, the buckle offers a unique and discreet carry option that’s always within reach. Whether displayed as a collectible or worn every day, it’s a practical piece of American craftsmanship you can be proud.” Star-spangled finish for America’s big birthday. [North American Arms] Chances are, most of us are not wearing a rodeo-style belt buckle with a handgun embedded in it as everyday wear, although I suppose there’s nothing wrong with that if you’re into it. As you can see from the title photo, a clip around the spur trigger keeps the revolver secured to the buckle. The buckle fits belts from 1 to 1 ½ inches wide and looks like it should be compatible with just about any belt on the market as long as it has holes in the tongue for adjustment and closure. The revolver has rosewood grips and a 1 1/8 -inch barrel, and is only available in .22LR. Sorry, .22 Magnum fans—maybe they’ll catch ya on the 300th birthday party in 50 years. And in case you had the thought of trying to carry one of North American Arms’ other revolvers in the buckle, their site specifically says “The BBO-LR250 buckle will only accept the NAA-22LR (1 1/8” Barrel).” A coin you can’t spend anywhere … [North American Arms] Along with the revolver and the buckle, you also get a coin in this deal, but good luck using it as legal tender …North American Arms says they’ll only make 500 of these 2050th anniversary buckle-and-pistol combos. Asking price is $399 at the North American Arms website, the same price as the 50th-anniversary set they had last year—other similar sets are available for about fifty bucks less. See the 250th birthday set listed here.If you don’t like the mini revolver format, but you still want to show off your pride in America hitting the quarter-of-a-millennium mark (no mean feat!), then take a quick look at Google’s results. You’ll see all sorts of long guns and handguns being made to commemorate the 2026 anniversary, even special-edition ammunition (see Luke’s review here), which seems a bit weird—like collecting gasoline or some other consumable. Ironically, the company that out-commemorated every other firearm manufacturer in existence, Winchester Repeating Arms, appears to have no commemorative 250th Anniversary firearms for sale. As Bob Dylan sang, the times, they are a-changin’.
