The document contracts Gulfcoast Utility Constructors for the work, but doesn’t specify exactly what Disney and Gulfcoast Utility Constructors plan to do in the area.On its website, Gulfcoast Utility Constructors, Inc. says it offers “comprehensive services for many underground utilities, including wet and dry utilities, fire prevention systems, and mechanical utilities.”Credit: Disney“Our major services include utility installation, repair, and maintenance, TEAM InsertValve installations, site and civil work, and vacuum excavation,” the Sarasota-based company writes. “With each crew boasting a minimum of 25 years of combined experience and a fleet of owned equipment, you can trust us to deliver quality and efficient services for projects of any size.”As with most construction permits across Walt Disney World Resort, this “general construction” permit expires exactly one year from now, on June 29, 2027. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the work will take that long to complete.Credit: Steven Miller, FlickrWalt Disney World Resort hasn’t publicly acknowledged any construction work on the EPCOT toll plaza or the nearby parking lots. However, Disney has slowly been doing maintenance in the area. In April, construction crews reinstalled the iconic lit “Welcome” sign at the top of the toll plaza, and recently added road dividers on the roadway leading to the toll plaza entrance at EPCOT.It’s unclear whether the “general construction” described in the permit relates to those projects or is something entirely different. Walt Disney World Resort rarely makes public statements about construction and refurbishment projects that don’t necessitate reroutes or attraction closures.Has construction ever impacted your visit to Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort?
