He takes over from General Upendra Dwivedi who retired after over four deca-des of service. The last Army chief to come from the Armoured Corps was Gen Shankar Roy Chowdhary. The change of command was marked with a ceremony at South Block Lawns he- re, where Gen Dwivedi was given a special send-off. Gen Seth’s key priorities will include accelerating force modernisation, triservice synergy, enhancing operational readiness along borders, and integrating advanced technologies like AI, drones, and cyber resilience into a self-reliant, future-ready armed force.
