A Minneapolis pastor has been arrested after being accused of stabbing his girlfriend’s ex. As reported by TwinCities.com, Terrence Philip Walker Sr. (61) is a senior pastor at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in St. Paul, Minneapolis. The outlets relay court documents, which say that at around 10:45 pm on June 25, police officers were called to an address after reports of a disturbance. On arrival, they discovered a 39-year-old shirtless man bleeding and clutching his clothes to a wound in his abdomen, which exposed internal tissue. The man, a former member of Walker’s church, was rushed to nearby Regions Hospital and immediately went into surgery. Walker is said to have fled the scene but was eventually located hiding in a nearby church. The two versions of events The victim’s daughter told police she and her mother had seen the incident, alleging Walker and her father had been in an aggressive argument with one another. This escalated until the two men’s foreheads were pressed together, at which time she says she heard a “slashing” sound that made her mother gasp in shock. The daughter said she immediately saw her father bleeding as Walker “lunged repeatedly” in an attempt to stab him again, as the mother rushed down to intervene. Walker has told a different story to the cops, as per the court documents. He says the 39-year-old had shown up at his house and begun to threaten him, yelling names and saying he had a gun in his car. Walker alleges he was attacked first, and only pulled a knife from his pocket after being grabbed. Walker also said he used a razor blade designed for beard-trimming in the incident, though the victim alleges a long, serrated hunting knife was used. The background to the drama was eventually uncovered as cops learned that this all stemmed from a dispute over power tools. The victim, who shares children with Walker’s longtime girlfriend, had arrived at his home that night to retrieve his tools that were stored in the garage. They weren’t there, and he accused Walker of pawning them and demanded a receipt, saying he knew what they’d done. The Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church has been approached for comment, but has made no public statement. Walker has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault and is due to appear at Ramsey County District Court on July 23. In other Minneapolis news, a confused resident discovered what appeared to be an entire car chopped up and jammed into a dumpster, and a woman called the cops when two kids were apparently trapped inside a convenience store.
