ShareHull City have added some experience to their squad ahead of their first top-flight season since 2016-17 with Jack Butland's signing.Hull City have announced Jack Butland as their first signing after returning to the Premier League.Butland joins from Rangers on a two-year deal, with the option for a further season, in a move reportedly worth £3m.The goalkeeper played every minute of Rangers' Scottish Premiership campaign in 2025-26 and made 55 appearances in all competitions.Across his three seasons with the Old Firm side, he played 157 matches, winning the Scottish League Cup in his debut campaign, while also being named both the club's Player of the Year and the Players' Player of the Year.Butland now returns to the Premier League for the first time since featuring for Crystal Palace between 2020 and 2023."I'm delighted it's all sorted now, and I'm really excited to be here," he told the club's media channels. "It's a great challenge and a fantastic season to look forward to. The challenge is obvious but an exciting one."The Premier League is the best league in the world and, personally, it's a great opportunity to be on the biggest stage again. I believe it's the level I'm capable of playing at, and I've done it before."As a club, we've got a great challenge back in the Premier League, not just to stay in the league but to really enjoy it and do as well as we can."It can't come quickly enough.
