Yet to receive actor Shwetha Menon’s resignation, says AMMA ad-hoc panel - The HinduPublished - July 02, 2026 08:07 pm IST - KOCHIA meeting of the ad-hoc committee of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) held here on Thursday stated that it is yet to receive the official resignation of Shwetha Menon, former president, and the rest of the executive committee members.The 17-member panel led by her decided to step down after a section of the association moved a no-confidence motion against the leadership at a general body meeting held here on June 21. The leadership was accused of failing to run the day-to-day affairs of the organisation and resolve the disputes within the outfit.Ramesh Pisharody, MLA and convener of the ad-hoc committee, said that they have not yet received the official resignation from Shwetha Menon and the rest of the executive committee members. He said that the previous committee has not submitted the minutes of their meetings and accounts. They have asked for some more time to submit it. However, it is the duty of the ad-hoc panel to carry on with the daily affairs of the association, he said.K. B Ganesh Kumar, former MLA and member of the ad-hoc committee, said that the ad-hoc committee was formed as per the majority decision taken at the general body meeting. All the members have to abide by it. The former president had announced in the general body meeting that the panel led by her was stepping down before the no-confidence motion was moved, he said.
