Farsons Group CEO Norman Aquilina has stepped down after 22 years with the company, including 16 years leading one of Malta’s largest businesses.In a farewell LinkedIn post, Aquilina reflected on his time at Farsons, describing the 2008 market liberalisation as a defining moment that reshaped the company.He recalled how Farsons faced growing competition following the opening of Malta’s beverage market, but said the company emerged stronger by embracing change, investing in its brands and empowering its people.According to Aquilina, Farsons’ turnover grew from €62 million before market liberalisation to €146 million in its latest financial year, while pre-tax profits increased from €2 million to €20 million.“The numbers show what we achieved, but it’s our people that explains how we achieved them,” he wrote, crediting the company’s success to the resilience and dedication of its team.As he signed off, Aquilina thanked colleagues for their support throughout his tenure and expressed confidence in the future of the Farsons Group.“As I close and move on to my next chapter, I raise a toast to Farsons… proud of all we have collectively achieved, and confident in the future prospects of Farsons.”We wish Norman Aquilina all the best in his next chapter!•
